The CCES Residential Tire Collection event continues through this Saturday August 2, at noon. Champaign County residents are invited to bring up to 10 tires that meet the size criteria for tires to be accepted at two designated drop-off sites–one in Urbana and one in Champaign.
WHO: This tire collection is for residents of Champaign County only. No salvage yards or retailers allowed.
WHEN: Saturday, August 2, 8 a.m.-noon.*
* The collection will end at noon on Saturday or once trailer capacity is reached at each collection site.
WHERE: The two tire COLLECTION LOCATIONS are:
- 1011 E. Kerr Ave, Urbana, NORTH PARKING LOT, Urbana Park District, Planning & Operations
- 201 W. Kenyon Road, Champaign, EAST PARKING LOT…CU Public Health District
ACCEPTED: Passenger vehicle tires, truck tires, or other tires that meet the SIZE LIMIT of 17″ or less. On-rim or off-rim, both okay. Limit: 10 tires per resident, collected for free.
NOT accepted: Oversized tires (e.g., agricultural or commercial tires).
